Gordon now joins two illustrious names in former Barcelona stars and club icons, Cesc Fabregas and Luis Suarez, both of whom achieved the feat during their own spells in Spanish football. His most recent display came in the win over Valencia, where he was able to fashion an assist. Gordon has quickly demonstrated exactly why the club were so keen to sign him, offering pace, directness and, crucially, a consistent end product from the wing. Yet he has taken to it effortlessly, thriving in a fluid front line that has helped Barcelona score freely across their opening four matches, all of which they have won. Gordon’s ability to link up with the likes of Raphinha, Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez has been a key feature of Barcelona’s attacking play, particularly with the club operating without a recognised number nine for much of the early season. For Flick, Gordon’s rapid integration is a major boost. The winger was signed to add depth and quality to the attack, and he has already delivered in emphatic fashion. If he can maintain this level, Barcelona may just have unearthed one of the signings of the summer.
