The Catalans have won their opening four matches in LaLiga, and they have scored goals for fun in all of those matches, with the current set of attackers absolutely on fire. The only exception was the 2-0 triumph over Athletic Club. No side across Europe’s elite divisions comes close to that pace. In Spain, Alaves and Real Madrid sit next with ten goals, while in Germany, Italy, England and France, the likes of Augsburg, Roma, Manchester City and Strasbourg all trail some way behind. Perhaps more importantly, the goals have come from all over the pitch rather than a single source. Raphinha, Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal have contributed 14 of the 17 goals between them, but the collective threat has been the defining feature. All of this despite being without a recognised number nine, notwithstanding the late arrival of Gabriel Jesus, who is yet to start a game for the club.
