Fernandes receives second Ballon d'Or nomination
[Getty Images] Manchester United and Portugal attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes has been named in the 30-player shortlist for the 2026 Ballon d'Or. The 32-year-old made 37 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring nine goals and contributing 22 assists, as Manchester United secured Champions League football for 2026-27. He has already been crowned the PFA Men's Player of the Year and the Football Writers' Association Men's Footballer of the Year for his exploits last season. It is the second Ballon d'Or nomination he has received throughout his career - and the winner will be announced on Monday, 26 October during a ceremony at The London Palladium.
