Barcelona urged to be patient with €8.5 million signing Jesse Bisiwu: ‘He’s got the charisma to succeed’ Jesse Bisiwu’s move to Barcelona was the realisation of a dream for the young forward, according to Feyenoord technical secretary Devy Rigaux, who played an important mentoring role during the player’s time at Club Brugge. Rigaux spent 15 years at the Belgian club and was still there when Barcelona made their move for Bisiwu.  Deco eventually secured the talented youngster for €8.5 million this summer, with Rigaux now revealing his admiration for the decision and the qualities that convinced Barça to make the investment. The Feyenoord official spoke to AS ahead of the Dutch side’s Champions League meeting with Barcelona at Camp Nou , where Bisiwu could have faced his former mentor if fit. Considering his past with Club Brugge and the fact that they played an exciting 3-3 draw against Barcelona last season, Rigaux expects Feyenoord to approach the Camp Nou challenge positively rather than simply defending. “It does make a difference, of course. Barça is Barça and the Camp Nou is a legendary stadium. It’s one of the greats. But if we sit back, we’ll suffer too, so we have to play football. “It’s the first time we’ll be playing in the Champions League in Barcelona (Feyenoord have only played once at the Camp Nou, in the old European Cup in the 1974–75 season); it’s a historic match.” Bisiwu’s Barcelona dream Rigaux’s most revealing comments concerned Bisiwu, whose move from Club Brugge to Barcelona represented a major step in his career. I hope to see him after the match. I know he’s been injured, but from what his agents told me, it’s nothing serious. “We’ll have to see what role he can play this year, given how young he is. I saw him in the match against Basel; his link-up play with Lamine… it was fantastic. “I think Barça need to give him time to settle in because he’s got the charisma to succeed. He’s got the qualities every team wants in modern football: pace, one-on-one ability. “He could have made a name for himself playing for Club Brugge in the Champions League, but I respect his decision to join Barça. He’s a real talent,” he concluded.
