Rodrygo’s father reveals when Real Madrid star will return from knee injury: ‘He’ll be back before…’ Rodrygo’s father has provided an update on the Real Madrid forward’s recovery from a serious knee injury, revealing that his son is expected to return before February 2027. The Brazilian has been sidelined since March after suffering damage to both the anterior cruciate ligament and lateral meniscus in his right knee. He underwent surgery after the injury and has spent the following months working through an intensive rehabilitation programme at Real Madrid’s Valdebebas training complex. Rodrygo has now reached the halfway stage of a recovery process that was initially expected to last at least 10 months. Real Madrid are understood to be satisfied with his progress, although his return to the pitch does not mean he is ready to play competitive football. Rodrygo takes another step in recovery The 25-year-old has returned to the pitch at Valdebebas for the first time in six months, marking another encouraging step in his rehabilitation. The club’s initial assessment placed his recovery at between 10 and 12 months, making a return during the first half of the new season unlikely. The priority, thus, remains ensuring he completes his rehabilitation properly rather than rushing him back. Rodrygo expected back before February Rodrygo’s injury has left Real Madrid without one of their most important attacking options for an extended period. On that note, his father has now offered a clearer indication of when supporters could expect to see the forward back in action. While speaking to El Chiringuito TV , he provided an optimistic timeline while also stressing Rodrygo’s expected importance once he returns. Rodrygo is still in the recovery phase. Real Madrid will not rush comeback The timing would allow Rodrygo to return for the decisive portion of the campaign, provided his rehabilitation continues without setbacks. For now, the forward’s return to training pitches represents progress rather than a definitive comeback date. Understandably, after such a serious ACL and meniscus injury, Real Madrid will have little reason to take unnecessary risks with his recovery. Rodrygo’s father’s update nevertheless provides encouragement. If the expected timeline is maintained, the Brazilian should be back before February 2027 and potentially available for the most demanding part of Real Madrid’s season.
