Substitute Paula Sánchez played a key role in the late winner. She used her strength to hold off her marker and bring the ball out of the air with her back to goal before laying it into the path of María Llompart. The 25-year-old then guided a first-time finish past Romane Salvador to fire Badalona to their first victory of the season. For Espanyol, they were left with a sense of Déjà vu after conceding late in a 1-0 defeat for the second week running. Athletic overcome early red card in hard-fought win Ten-player Athletic Club dug deep to claim a 1-0 victory away to Logroño United. Naia Landaluze was dismissed in the 15th minute after picking up two yellow cards.
