Spanish journalist reveals Vinicius Jr.’s eye-watering Real Madrid salary after new contract: ‘This is the new salary scale’ Real Madrid have significantly increased Vinicius Jr.’s salary as part of his contract renewal, with a new report claiming the Brazilian forward now costs the club around €48 million per season. According to Defensa Central , the figure represents the overall annual cost of Vinicius’s services following the agreement reached earlier this summer.  The new deal puts the 26-year-old on the same salary level as Kylian Mbappe, making the two forwards the highest-paid players in the Real Madrid squad. The financial details had been one of the major unknowns surrounding Vinicius’s renewal, although Ramon Alvarez de Mon has now offered an estimate of what the agreement means for Madrid’s wage bill. “The club pays €48 million per season and they will have to accept that this is the new salary scale for their top players,” explained the journalist. Real Madrid have room to absorb Vinicius salary Indeed, the increase is substantial, but it does not currently appear to be creating financial difficulties for the Spanish giants. (Photo by Angel Martinez/Getty Images) Alvarez de Mon stressed that Madrid had anticipated the cost of retaining Vinicius and had enough financial flexibility to complete the agreement without putting excessive pressure on the club. “Madrid has its wage bill under control in relation to its revenue; it’s a very low percentage,” explained the analyst. That control has been helped by several high-profile departures in recent years.  David Alaba, Luka Modric and Dani Carvajal have all moved off the wage bill, creating room for Madrid to accommodate the improved terms offered to Vinicius. The Brazilian’s new salary therefore reflects both his importance to the team and the changing financial hierarchy within the squad. There is still a warning attached to the situation, though, with the journalist stating, Vinicius’ new contract with Real Madrid runs until 2032. Bellingham could be Real Madrid’s next big dilemma With Vinicius and Mbappe now sitting at the top of the salary structure, attention will eventually turn to Jude Bellingham. The England international remains under contract until 2029, but his current deal could become an issue as Madrid establish a new pay scale for their leading players.  Bellingham is expected to seek terms that reflect his importance to the squad when negotiations eventually take place. That could present Madrid with their next major wage-management challenge.
