Liverpool’s Bradley Barcola avoids injury ahead of France squad announcement
Liverpool’s Bradley Barcola avoids injury ahead of France squad announcement Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola provided a positive update on Bradley Barcola (24) after the Frenchman was forced off during Wednesday night’s win (2-1) over Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League. Barcola, who featured for Liverpool in the Premier League over the weekend, made his UCL debut for the Merseyside club on Wednesday as they hosted Spanish opposition at Anfield. However, the former Paris Saint-Germain winger was forced off in the 60th minute. There were fears that the Frenchman had suffered an injury, with the player holding his calf. However, post-match, Iraola said that there was no injury and that the Olympique Lyonnais academy product was merely suffering from cramp. He will, therefore, likely be fit to face Fulham on Saturday. Barcola is also still in contention to make the next France squad. Zinédine Zidane will name his first squad, for the upcoming international break, on 18th September. An injury would have been untimely, but it has been avoided. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
