Bath City takeover by investment group completed

The deal, in the region of £6m, was approved by the club's board last month after Stalbow raised funds through around 50 investors. Stalbow is a co-founder and CEO of a mobile entertainment company, while the co-founder of band Tears for Fears, Curt Smith, is among those to contribute. Stalbow has been named Bath City's new executive chair and said they wanted to "unlock Bath City's potential and transform the club". "This deal happened because of the incredible backing we've received from the fans, the shareholders, the Supporters Society, the Supporters Club and the board," he said. "We hugely appreciate you putting your faith in us. We will strive to be the custodians you believe we can be." A club statement said the aim was to support "the men's and women's teams to climb the football pyramid" while also improve the infrastructure and connection with the fans and community. Outgoing Bath chair, David McDonagh, said: "Many people have worked diligently behind the scenes to make sure that this deal is the right one to take our club forward.
