The previous increase came in March, following the winter transfer window, when La Liga raised Barcelona’s limit to €432.8 million. That was already an €81.5 million improvement compared with the figure established in September 2025. The latest figures represent another major step forward. Barcelona now second only to Real Madrid With a squad cost limit of €582.769 million , Barcelona now sit comfortably in second place among LaLiga clubs. Only Real Madrid have a higher figure, with their limit standing at €832.786 million . The next highest figures belong to Atlético Madrid (€361.287 million), Villarreal (€170.564 million) and Athletic Club (€139.203 million). The gap between Barcelona and the rest of the league’s major clubs is therefore once again significant. More importantly, the figure is about more than accounting. It provides another indication that Barcelona’s financial recovery is beginning to have a direct impact on the sporting side of the club. The improved limit reflects the club’s stronger financial position and its increased ability to sustain a higher squad cost while remaining within LaLiga’s regulations. A bigger salary cap has helped Barcelona strengthen The impact can already be seen on the pitch. Barcelona were able to approach the summer transfer window with greater ambition, strengthening the squad and giving Hansi Flick more options across the team. The club has been able to add quality and depth without abandoning financial control. In fact, the latest figures suggest Barcelona have managed to improve their squad while simultaneously increasing their financial capacity. Economic recovery continues. A remarkable increase in just one year The scale of Barcelona’s progress becomes even clearer when the figures are viewed over a longer period. In September 2025, the club’s squad cost limit stood at €351.284 million. By February 2026, it had risen to €432.807 million. Following the summer transfer window, it now stands at €582.769 million. That means Barcelona have increased their limit by €231.485 million in roughly one year, equivalent to a 65.9% rise. The club therefore have significantly more room to manoeuvre than they did 12 months ago. Barcelona’s summer activity already produced a stronger squad. La Liga’s latest financial figures provide further evidence that the club’s economic recovery is translating into greater freedom when planning for the future.
