Though, that will largely have been because Mac Allister's pre-season was cut short by Argentina making the World Cup final. But it's also notable because Gravenberch and Szoboszlai were the two midfielders who got massive long-term contracts this year. Mac Allister didn't - as he's pointed out this week. He's on course to become a vital player for Iraola and we're not sure he could be easily replaced - or replaced at all, quite honestly. Mac Allister was, after all, in the PFA Team of the Year two years ago and looked like one of the absolute outstanding Premier League midfielders. If he returns to that level, and he's on course to do so, then Liverpool won't find a like-for-like.
