Arsenal Are Keeping Tabs On This Atletico Madrid Youngster: One For The Future? In a recent report , journalist Graeme Bailey mentioned that Arsenal are keeping tabs on Atletico Madrid youngster Jorge Dominguez. It has been mentioned that the Gunners have launched an enquiry to sign the Spanish whizkid. Dominguez’s Impressive Rise In Spain Dominguez has come through the youth ranks of the Madrid club and has done well to break into their first team recently. The Spanish centre-back has made one senior appearance for Atletico Madrid thus far. The 16-year-old is currently among the best young defenders in Spain. Hence, it is no surprise that the Gunners are monitoring his progress ahead of a potential move in 2027. His current contract at the Madrid club will run out in the summer of 2028, which could open the door for Arsenal to land him on the cheap next year. Dominguez is a good tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn possession back for his side on the defensive third of the pitch. He usually puts his foot through the ball when required and is proficient at playing his way out from the back. Standing at 1.92m, the Spanish talent is a strong presence in the air as well. Dominguez is primarily a centre-back but can also operate as a right-back if asked to do so by his manager. However, there are some concerns over whether he can cope with the high intensity of the Premier League if the Gunners manage to get a deal done for him next year. We can expect Dominguez to enhance the quality of Arsenal’s defence in the long run. He has the potential to become a future star in English football as long as he continues to improve with each season. However, Dominguez is still quite raw and would need time to adapt to life in England. At 16, he has the ceiling to be a world-class defender someday. The Spanish centre-half is undoubtedly a prospect to watch out for in the future, so Mikel Arteta would be wise to step up his efforts to land him when the transfer window reopens in January.
