It's official, there's another Alexander Isak and he is destined to join Liverpool Another Alexander Isak is destined to join Liverpool. The Swede is just getting started at Anfield. Isak arrived with so much expectation but it has taken him a while to get going. The truth is he came without a pre-season. He struggled with injuries and we never really got to see the best of him. But four goal contributions in four games at the World Cup and three goals in his first three Premier League games for Liverpool is making him look finally like the £125m the Reds spent in order to make him the most expensive player in English football history last summer. Isak is quick, he is finally scoring goals and all of that is thanks to Andoni Iraola, who has allowed him to spread his wings. Andoni Iraola building exciting attack for Liverpool With With the injury of Hugo Ekitike, it's really just Isak who is a recognised forward option for Iraola at the moment. There are players who can fill that role like Federico Chiesa and Cody Gakpo, or even Victor Munoz and Bradley Barcola have played that role, but they are all better in other areas of the pitch. It's going to be very interesting to see how Iraola is going to navigate this tricky period while the Reds wait for Ekitike to return. In the summer market, Liverpool were definitely open to bringing in another player who can play centrally. Ismaila Sarr seemed to be a target but the Reds could not agree a deal for him. There's no denying even without Ekitike, the attack is exciting with a lot of pace and flair. Liverpool are scoring goals and playing a lot of good football and it's still very early days. Meet Job Ochieng - the next Alexander Isak The one area where Liverpool really lack depth is on the right-wing. Right now, the Reds have no recognised right-winger. With Mo Salah having departed, Liverpool's attackers are having to rotate from their comfortable left side to play out of position on the right. Well, one player who can help fill that void is Job Ochieng who is following in Isak's footsteps at Real Sociedad. Starting on the right-wing, Ochieng became the youngest Real Sociedad player to be involved in three goals in a La Liga match since Isak against Alavés in February 2021 (21 years and 153 days). It was a terrific performance from the Kenyan and with Liverpool having tracked Isak back when he was at Sociedad and now needing a right-winger it feels like Ochieng is destined to become the answer to replace Salah and join the Reds.
