Liverpool want to agree deal for 'spectacular' attacker in January Liverpool still have a fair few gaps that they need to plug among their first-team squad this season. Even though they spent well over £100 million on new players during the summer transfer window, there are still a couple of gaping holes among their ranks that need to be filled. Obviously, this will all come with time and, as Liverpool proved last term, completely changing your team all at once doesn't always work out for the best. For example, Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz were expected to completely transform Liverpool's attack and set them up for the next few years. However, thanks to the injuries suffered by Isak and the lack of form that Wirtz was in, the Reds crumbled and finished fifth in the Premier League. This led to many different rumours being shared about the Reds' transfer plans and, even though some players they were linked with ended up making the switch to Anfield, others unfortunately didn't. And, since it's clear that more changes are still needed, it's hardly a surprise to see rumours already emerging about potential deals Liverpool could try and explore in January. Liverpool are 'open' to signing Real Madrid's Endrick on loan As mentioned, throughout the summer, countless players were linked with a Liverpool move. The Anfield outfit clearly had to make a vast improvement across the board this term if they even wanted to have half a chance of challenging for some silverware. Obviously, the main goal is to ensure Champions League qualification but, if a trophy or two could be won, that would be even sweeter. So, in order for the Reds to keep up with their rivals, changes need to be made constantly and now, as per a fresh update from Tribal Football , it seems like Iraola is eyeing a move for a Real Madrid star. "Endrick caught the eye during his time in Ligue 1, scoring eight goals and providing eight assists in his 21 games across all competitions, before heading back to Madrid in June for preseason," they wrote. "Liverpool reached out over a loan package for the full 2026/27 season, but that was rejected, as Jose Mourinho wanted to assess him on his return from injury. "The former Palmerias attacker is due back in match action from October, but if chances are still limited, Mourinho may reconsider his position in the mid-season market. "Liverpool remain open to a loan, but they face a battle with AC Milan, who can offer more opportunities after the departure of Rafael Leao to Galatasaray." Endrick would be an incredible addition for Liverpool The fact that Liverpool have long-standing interest in Endrick proves how good the Brazilian is. He's still only 20 years old and, while he may be out injured at the moment, upon his return, he's likely to play a regular role for Jose Mourinho. Last term, the striker spent the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan with Lyon and, during his 21 appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit, he contributed to a total of 16 goals across all competitions. His natural position is obviously as a striker but, with Lyon, he played most of his games on the right-wing. And, since Liverpool haven't signed a natural right-winger to replace Mohamed Salah yet, it's clear to see why the " spectacular " attacker would be an immense addition. The fact that he's already putting out those sorts of numbers despite being just 20 years old is mind-boggling and, although it would probably only be a six-month loan deal with no buy option, those six months could give Liverpool time to figure out who they want on the right permanently. Many players have already been linked with an Anfield switch but, of the lot, Endrick feels like the most exciting. Here's hoping that the Reds' desire to make a move takes over and that they get a deal for the Brazilian over the line.
