Andoni Iraola has already lined up his next Liverpool transfer
Andoni Iraola has already lined up his next Liverpool transfer Andoni Iraola has already made a lot of changes to Liverpool's ranks this summer. However, with how many adjustments the Reds needed to make to their first-team squad, some new arrivals could still end up joining the Reds in January. But, since they've already spent a hefty chunk of change on new players, it's unclear how much certain deals would cost Liverpool. At the moment, their attack is probably still their main priority to improve as they've still not managed to replace Mohamed Salah with a natural right-winger. Indeed, Bradley Barcola and Victor Munoz have both joined and, since both of them can be used on the right-wing, the Reds are probably okay for now. However, that hasn't stopped the rumour mill from going into overdrive with Iraola's next potential signing now revealed. Liverpool may still eye a move for Yankuba Minteh in January One of the main players that Liverpool were linked with throughout summer was Yankuba Minteh . The 22-year-old has played for Brighton over the last couple of years and has managed to get plenty of Premier League experience under his belt. However, thanks to his recent injury which is set to keep him out of action for the next few months, a deal between Liverpool and Brighton couldn't be agreed. Indeed, the Seagulls were demanding an extortionate fee for the Gambian but, due to how desperately the Reds needed a right-winger, you can see why Fabian Hurzeler was standing his ground. And, even though the deal never came to fruition this summer, that doesn't mean that a January move can't take place. That is, especially if a report from Football Insider is to be believed. "Liverpool remain interested in agreeing a deal to sign Brighton star Yankuba Minteh in the January window, sources have told Football Insider," they wrote. "The Reds registered an interest in Minteh last month amid their search to bolster Andoni Iraola's attacking depth. "They could still make a move for Minteh following the turn of the year. "Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has already hinted at a deal still being alive for him to move to Merseyside in January." Yankuba Minteh would be a good signing for Liverpool at the right price Some of Brighton's demands that they were making at the end of the transfer window to allow Minteh to exit the Amex were absurd. In fact, there were even times when a deal worth somewhere around £80 million was mooted for the 22-year-old. Admittedly, he does have a decent chunk of Premier League experience under his belt but, since he's only contributed to 17 goals in the three years he's been a Brighton player, it's clear that he still has a lot of work to do for him to be worth that much. The timing of Liverpool's bid will have obviously had a lot to do with it and, if they didn't manage to get a deal for Barcola over the line, Minteh would have probably been signed . Of course, he'd still be a welcome addition to Anfield in the future but, if Brighton's demands reach that same £80 million level again, some serious questions will need to be asked and a lot of research will need to be done. Because, if the Reds end up paying that much, they need to make sure that the Gambian is worth every penny.
