According to SPORT , the Brazilian striker is beginning to put pressure on Carlo Ancelotti with his performances for Barça .  His involvement has been limited so far under Hansi Flick, but he has already found the net and shown exactly what Barcelona hoped he would bring to the attack. Jesus made his Barcelona debut against Valencia on Sunday, entering the match for the final nine minutes with the score already 5-0. Three days later, Flick sent him on for the final seven minutes against Feyenoord. It was his first appearance in front of the Barcelona supporters, and he needed only a few minutes to give them something to celebrate. For Barcelona, that is an encouraging early sign, as the club now has another experienced attacking option capable of making something happen around the penalty area. Indeed, Jesus will need more opportunities before any serious conclusions can be drawn, but scoring so quickly should help his case with Flick. Brazil’s No. 9 spot is still up for grabs The goal came at an interesting time for Jesus. While Barcelona were completing their victory over Feyenoord, Ancelotti was announcing Brazil’s squad for the upcoming friendlies against Australia and India, and Jesus was not included. That decision does not necessarily close the door on an international return, as Brazil’s No. 9 position remains open to competition following the World Cup, creating an opportunity for players outside the current squad to force their way back into contention. His last Brazil appearance came in November 2023, meaning a return to the national team would represent a significant personal milestone after a lengthy absence. Raphinha has already shown that he can operate effectively as a central attacking option, while Barcelona have other players competing for minutes. Jesus therefore cannot rely on reputation alone. His first goal gives him a useful starting point, and if he can continue making an impact whenever Flick calls upon him, the pressure on Ancelotti to reconsider his options at centre-forward will naturally increase.
