Serie A: Venezia vs. Fiorentina – Confirmed line-ups Paolo Vanoli has made sweeping changes to the Fiorentina line-up for his second debut as Viola head coach away against Venezia in Serie A on Friday evening. Neither side have won any of their first three matches of the 2026-27 Serie A season. Newly-promoted Venezia have fallen to early defeats against Lecce, Milan and most recently Frosinone, leaving them on zero points with a goal difference of -5. The greater scrutiny is on Fiorentina, though, who have already taken the decision to sack head coach Fabio Grosso and replace him with his predecessor, Vanoli . (Photo by Gabriele Maltinti/Getty Images) Fiorentina spent heavily to transform their playing squad and coaching staff over the summer after a massively disappointing 2025-26 campaign, which saw them flirting with relegation for much of the season. They have since fallen to a 4-0 loss against Roma, a 3-0 loss against Fiorentina and a 2-1 loss at home against Torino at the start of 2026-27 and find themselves at the bottom of the Serie A standings as a result. Vanoli is now back in the dugout and has changed half of the Fiorentina side that lost to Torino last weekend, replacing Joao Mario, Victor Valdepenas, Christ Inao Oulai, Marco Brescianini and Mateo Pellegrino with Alex Jimenez, Luca Ranieri, Arthur Atta, Cher Ndour and Beto. Venezia have made a handful of changes following their recent defeat against Frosinone, bringing Matias Moreno into the back three, Richi Sagrado in at left wing-back and John Yeboah in at centre-forward in place of Albion Rrahmani.
