Barcelona teenage new arrival in line for official debut with reserve team
Barcelona teenage new arrival in line for official debut with reserve team Jesse Bisiwu has been included in Juliano Belletti’s squad for Barça Atletic’s league game Logrones Promesas, putting the young Belgian in line for his competitive debut after recovering from a knock. The 18-year-old winger joined Barça this past summer, signing from Club Brugge in a deal worth €8.5 million plus add-ons. Having arrived, the youngster was immediately drafted into the first-team squad for pre-season, where he impressed as well. His official debut, though, has yet to take place as some bureaucratic issues prevented Hansi Flick from calling him up for the first few games. Bisiwu returns to the squad Meanwhile, Bisiwu played for Barça Atletic in the Copa Catalunya final against Sabadell, where he picked up a minor knock, sidelining him. The Catalans’ reserve team made an emphatic start to their RFEF Segunda Federacion campaign, beating Naxara 5-0 in their opening fixture, but Bisiwu was unavailable due to the knock. The teenage winger resumed training with the first team this week, although he was not part of the group session today . It became clear that he would not be included in the squad travelling to face Levante in La Liga tomorrow. Now, Bisiwu has been cleared to join the reserve squad and called up by manager Juliano Belletti for their away game against Logrones Promesas. The Blaugrana have been cautious with the youngster since his knock, but he is now ready to take the next step and make his official debut with the reserve team, after featuring 12 minutes in the unofficial Copa Catalunya final. Bisiwu’s return gives Belletti another attacking option in a squad that already demonstrated its firepower in the opening weekend. Fellow summer arrival Ignasi Quer was the standout performer against Naxara, scoring four goals in the 5-0 victory. Bisiwu called up by Barça Atletic. (Picture credit: x/@FCBarcelona) Caicedo and Aller miss out There are a couple of absences from the squad. Josue Caicedo, who also joined the club in the summer, misses out because of a hamstring problem, while goalkeeper Eder Aller cannot travel after picking up a knock during the Youth League. Pedro Rodriguez, however, is available and has been included. Having failed to win promotion to the Primera RFEF last season, Belletti and Barça Atletic will be intent on achieving that goal. And having a player of Bisiwu’s talent and potential could certainly help.
