Stephan El Shaarawy made his Grifone comeback after 16 years at his hometown club, but Kvernadze’s volley was acrobatically palmed out from under the bar by Justin Bijlow. Colombo stung Palmisani’s gloves from distance, and the goalkeeper got down quickly to deny Vitinha at the near stick, but Genoa were reduced to 10 men as Vasquez received a second yellow card for dragging back Seydou Fini. Frosinone had the chance to win it in stoppages, but debutant Bobcek’s free header on a corner was clawed off the line by Bijlow.
