Askey unhappy with Truro City's 'worst performance'

John Askey's side have won four and drawn two of their seven league games this season [Shutterstock] Truro City manager John Askey says his side's 1-1 draw with Walton and Hersham was their "worst performance" of the season. The Tinners needed a Ryan Law goal in the eighth minute of stoppage time to secure a point. The equaliser came just moments after City striker Omar Bogle had been sent off for violent conduct. The visitors went ahead in the 81st minute after an own goal from Truro defender Christian Oxlade-Chamberlain. The point means Truro are fifth in National League South, four points off leaders Maidstone United with two games in hand. "It's very frustrating," Askey told BBC Radio Cornwall. "We talked before the game about doing things right and it was probably our worst performance - we had a lot of the ball, but didn't make enough of it. "I thought we were slow in possession, the movement wasn't good enough and then we got done with a sucker punch. "But luckily things that were happening last season, it's probably the opposite this season where we've managed to salvage a point."
