After coming off the back of two impressive wins against Ipswich and Atletico Madrid, fans probably expected a lot more from the Anfield outfit. In fact, in both of those previous games, it finally felt like the Liverpool of old were making a return. However, that was evidently not the case with Andoni Iraola's men barely able to string more than five passes together . Of course, the former Bournemouth boss is still trying to figure out what his best starting XI is but, with the way that their performances have been going recently, it's clear that it's still going to take a while for them to get used to the new way of doing things. And, for Iraola, this is all obviously still a learning curve as, he now won't want to drop one of his regular starters ever again after the performance his replacement put on display. Milos Kerkez cannot be dropped by Andoni Iraola again Milos Kerkez has been one of the main players to frustrate Liverpool fans this season. Even though he was only bought by the club last summer, the Hungarian has hardly met expectations which has made fans want Liverpool to sign another new left-back. However, they didn't get that wish and instead, Kostas Tsimikas was welcomed back to L4. Saturday's 0-0 draw with Fulham was the Greek Scouser's first start since his return and, after his performance, it's probably going to be his last. The left-back was hooked at half-time and made himself look useless. Saturday's game was his best chance yet to prove why he deserves to stay at Anfield but, after what he did on Saturday, it's clear that's going to be the last time he's trusted by Iraola. That is, even though the " fierce " Kerkez is their only other option. Kostas Tsimikas was one of Liverpool's worst players vs Fulham As mentioned, Kerkez's performances have been far from ideal but, when the alternative is Tsimikas, the Hungarian looks like Roberto Carlos. Tsimikas was signed by Jurgen Klopp to be Andy Robertson 's back-up because, at the time, the Scotsman was arguably the best left-back in the world. And, back then, Tsimikas accepted this but, even when he was called upon, he still put on a good show. Since his return from AS Roma, the full-back has been used as a back-up once again with the only difference being that he's performing much worse. For example, against Fulham, the left-back only won three of the seven ground duels he attempted and won none of the tackles he made. He also committed three fouls despite only being on the pitch for 45 minutes. Only 65 per cent of his passes were accurate and he also lost possession of the ball 17 times. Across an entire 90 minutes, some of these statistics wouldn't be awful but, for just one half of football, it's clear that the 30-year-old is finished. Here's hoping Liverpool make a move for a new left-back soon otherwise, it could be curtains for their title chances already.
