Waldemar Kita opens door to FC Nantes sale and reveals offers received
Waldemar Kita opens door to FC Nantes sale and reveals offers received Waldemar Kita has said that he is open to selling FC Nantes, who, after six matchdays, sit second from bottom in Ligue 2 with just four points on the board. Last season, Les Canaris burnt through three managers, but ultimately still suffered relegation to France’s second tier. Since purchasing the Loire club back in 2007, Kita has gained a reputation for high managerial turnover. His management of the club has incited anger from Nantes’ fanbase. That was evident on the final day of last season, as the executives were advised to stay away from the Beaujoire. It still didn’t prevent the Nantes fans from storming the pitch and forcing the game’s cancellation. Speaking to Presse Océan, Kita has now opened the door to a sale. “I am going into my 20th year (at FCN). I am asking a lot of questions… maybe I am not made for this. Either today or tomorrow, maybe it is important for me to hand over the reins,” he said. Kita added that if there are offers on the table, he would be open to discussing them. And there are offers, three of them, in fact, even if the Nantes owner added that, for now, “Nothing is done, nothing is serious”. The owner refused to put a valuation on the Ligue 2 club.
