Manchester United vs Manchester City player ratings Senne Lammens: — Solid save on Enzo Fernandez to keep it 1-0. Diogo Dalot: 6 — Arrived for a fight and rarely relented. Harry Maguire: 6 — Saw yellow and competed hard but did not influence the game going forward as he did in his heyday. Lisandro Martinez: — Lost Haaland on the goal and did not have help on his left. Patrick Dorgu: 5 — Worked hard but switched off as Dalot marked Semenyo, failing to account for Josko Gvardiol who crossed in for Haaland's goal. His five tackles did lead the game. Kobbie Mainoo: 7.5 — He was exceptional, one of two United players to hit a post. Set up teammates for numerous opportunities. Youri Tielemans (Off 68'): 7 — His 12 line-breaking passes were leading the game deep into the 90. Marcus Rashford (Off 83'): 7 — Hit woodwork with solid free kick deep in first-half stoppage time. Could he have recovered to find Haaland on the goal? Let the game in shots (3) and touches in the opposition box (9) at time of his exit. Bruno Fernandes: 5 — Very fortunate to dodge discipline for kicking Foden, which turned out to be worth it since the Man City man was sent off for his retribution. Created one chance in the game, unacceptable for his standing in the game and team. Matheus Cunha: 6 — Ripped off three shot attempts, the most of any player. Bryan Mbeumo: 5.5 — Very quiet, he could've tied it deep in stoppage but saw his point-blank shot denied by Donnarumma. Subs Benjamin Sesko ( On for Tielemans, 68') : 6 Joshua Zirkzee ( On for Rashford, 83') : N/A Manchester City player ratings at Manchester United Gianluigi Donnarumma: 8 — Until late, he didn't have much to do with two saves and two high claims but he did it. Sent forward 11 line-breaking passes including a long ball that led to Haaland's goal. Josko Gvardiol: 8.5 — Sent in the cross for Haaland's goal, and made some key denials of United. Is he the best left back in the world? Most tackle of any Man City player with four and won 8-of-10 duels. Marc Guehi: 7 — Six clearances in a composed performance. Ruben Dias: 7 — Similar day to Guehi as he kept the alleys clear. Matheus Nunes: 8.5 — Eleven defensive contributions plus a 5-for-5 record in the duel. The right call from Maresca. Elliot Anderson: 8 — All over the pitch, covering the ground of two men. Helped shut down Fernandes. Enzo Fernandez (Off 82'): 8 — Terrific tackle to deny Youri Tielemans a high-danger chance in the first half in what was a penalty shout. A marvelous introduction to the derby, he almost scored and had covered the joint-most ground of any player (Anderson) when he subbed out of the game. Phil Foden: 2.5 — It's a red card and it's almost always going to be a red card. Foden is not a shrinking violet but he's been in a lot of these derbies. Fernandes deserved punishment, too, but that doesn't change a kick to the midsection from a prone position. Rayan Cherki (Off 46'): 6 — The red card affected his game in a big way, as he was withdrawn at the break. Did plenty of ground-covering before that, though. Antoine Semenyo: 6.5 — Terrific ball control before giving the ball to Gvardiol on Haaland's goal. Erling Haaland: 8 — After some loose passes early in the second half, he made amends with an outstanding finish for his fourth goals in four PL games this season. Subs Iliman Ndiaye ( On for Cherki, 46') : 7 — His chasing down of a loose ball informed the Haaland goal. Nico O'Reilly ( On for Fernandez, 82') : N/A
