'Lampard might not be good enough for the Premier League'
[Getty Images] French football journalist Julien Laurens has questioned whether Coventry boss Frank Lampard has the credentials to succeed in the Premier League. The Sky Blues are without a point and a goal in their opening four league games after storming to the Championship title last season. Lampard himself has a mixed record as a Premier League boss during two spells with Chelsea - the second as a caretaker - and at Everton . [BBC] "I don't know if Frank Lampard is good enough for the Premier League," Laurens told BBC Radio 5 Live. "From what I've seen, he might be a very good Championship manager and just not ready to make that step up. "With a club like Coventry, you can say it's difficult but they have spent a lot of money in the summer, like Hull City and like Ipswich . We should not really compare promoted sides, but it's inevitable that you look at the other two that went up. "You see that and think it hasn't been good enough so far. I don't know if he's good enough to turn things round and keep them up. "I think this is a massive season for Frank Lampard because many people expected them to go down, sure, but his experience in the Premier League hasn't been good enough so far barring his first season at Chelsea, which was a unique situation.
