Blow for Union St Gilloise as key defender set for months out with torn cruciate ligament Union St Gilloise have been dealt a serious blow with the news that defender Kevin Mac Allister is set for a prolonged period on the sidelines. The Argentine defender suffered a torn cruciate ligament at the weekend as the side comfortably beat newly promoted Lommel at home. With Ross Sykes also out for months with a shoulder injury, Union St Gilloise are now looking somewhat light at the back, with Mac Allister having been a consistent and key player in what has been one of the best defences in Belgian football in recent seasons. The back three will now likely be made up of Massire Sylla, Nikki Havenaar and Ondrej Kricfalusi, with Havenaar having replaced Mac Allister at the weekend and scored his first goal for Union St Gilloise. Sylla has certainly impressed in recent weeks. The 21-year-old from Senegal joined from Lyn back in January and made just three appearances last season.
