LATEST: PSG give injury update on key player who came off hurt against Brest PSG have given an update on the fitness of Achraf Hakimi, who limped off in their game against Brest at the weekend. PSG fans got pretty worried when Achraf Hakimi was subbed off injured shortly before half time in the Parisians’ game against Brest on Friday night. However the injury report from the club is now out, and it sounds like a relatively minor issue for the former Real Madrid man. They said in their official update that the right back has a minor muscle strain in his right thigh, and will undergo treatment in the next two days, before returning to first team training again. (Photo by Alexander Hassenstein/Getty Images) In Friday night’s game, when Hakimi was taken off he was replaced by Fabian Ruiz who played in midfield while Warren Zaire-Emery went to right back. That’s the solution we saw used a lot for long stretches last season while Hakimi was out, and it’s the one we expect in the next few games if the Morocco star isn’t fit. While the injury sounds very minor, a cautious attitude from PGS is expected, and we’d suspect they leave Hakimi out of the starting team for at least one game. The fact that that game is Le Classique away in Marseille this weekend is an unfortunate twist.
