Barcelona keeping close tabs on Bayern Munich goal machine amid renewal talks – report Barcelona are watching developments around Harry Kane’s future at Bayern Munich, with the England captain’s contract situation beginning to attract attention at Camp Nou. According to TalkSport , Bayern are keen to secure Kane on a new long-term deal, with his current contract due to expire in the summer of 2027.  The expectation is that the 33-year-old will continue in Bavaria, but Barcelona are keeping an eye on how negotiations develop. Notably, the interest is not entirely new, as Barça have considered Kane for some time , although the club’s preference has been to find a younger striker to eventually lead the line. Kane remains an alternative to Alvarez Barcelona’s main focus is understood to be Julian Alvarez, but Kane sits among the experienced alternatives being considered alongside Manchester City striker Erling Haaland. That makes the Bayern contract negotiations particularly relevant. Should Kane’s situation change, Barcelona would already have a history of interest in the striker and contact with his camp. For now, Kane’s age is the obvious factor separating him from Alvarez. At 33, he would be a short-to-medium-term solution rather than the kind of long-term investment Barcelona have prioritised. But his profile would offer something Flick’s current squad does not have in abundance: a recognised, elite centre-forward. Flick still needs a Lewandowski successor Barcelona have largely used Raphinha as the central attacking reference this season, with Gabriel Jesus and Anthony Gordon also providing options. That is why the club’s search for a long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski remains significant. Kane would bring a very different proposition. His goalscoring record, ability to link play and experience at the highest level would make him an immediate solution, while Alvarez would better fit the club’s preference for a younger forward. For now, there is no indication that Barcelona have made a formal move for Kane.  Rather, the more immediate development is happening in Munich, where Bayern are attempting to convince their star striker to commit his future beyond 2027.
