Cavan Sullivan is set for his first United States men's national team call-up, according to ESPN’s Jeff Carlisle . The Philadelphia Union teen phenom and future Manchester City player turns 17 during this month's international break and is set to be announced Thursday as a member of the team for friendlies against Peru, Chile, Mexico, and Canada over the next three weeks. Sullivan signed for Man City back in 2024, with Philadelphia holding onto a sell-on clause and keeping hold of the teenager until his 18th birthday (September 18, 2027). Sullivan is in red-hot form, having scored five goals with two assists in his last five MLS games including an audacious back-heel, no-look dink off the post. All of his nine goals and nine assists in 48 senior appearances for the Union have come this season in 29 games. Who is Cavan Sullivan? Man City prospect shining in Major League Soccer Sullivan made his professional debut with MLS Next Pro side Philadelphia Union II in 2024, also collecting nine minutes across three MLS matches. He can play on either side of the attack but thrives on the right, and has plenty of experience in the United States youth national team set-up. Sullivan is an elite creator who loves to shoot and completes 2.5 dribbles per 90 minutes this season. He's also been an effective presser for the Union. Sullivan's mother is Bangladeshi-German and both nations had been linked with recruitment interest in Sullivan. Two of his older brothers Ronan and Declan are already part of the Bangladesh set-up, and another brother Quinn has three caps for the USMNT.
