Manchester City are taking a patient approach with an intriguing sunmer signing One of the more intriguing signings that Manchester City have made in recent times is the signing of Brazilian winger Allan from Palmeiras. Allan arrived at City after forging his way at Palmeiras and in time he should be a useful option for Enzo Maresca to utilise on the right wing. As of yet, Allan is yet to make an appearance for City. He has been on the bench recently but is yet to get on the pitch. Manchester City’s Director of Football has spoken on the signing of Allan and has revealed that Manchester City are taking a patient approach with Allan. Hopefully this plan pays dividends in the long run for City. Hugo Viana has explained that Manchester City had their eyes on Allan for some time and will give him time to adapt to life in England. In a new interview with mancity.com , Manchester City’s Director of Football spoke on why City signed Allan from Palmeiras. Also, Viana revealed that City are going to give the Brazilian winger time to adjust to his new surroundings. Speaking on the signing of Allan, and Manchester City’s plan for him, Viana explained: “ A very interesting topic because we were looking for a different type of winger. We knew that Allan could be that. We were following him for the last year and a half, two years, and he had a really interesting pathway in Brazil. ” “ He’s young, needs to adapt, and we’re going to give him time. He’ll need more time because coming from Brazil to the Premier League is a big step, but we also believe he will be important. He can play left, right, in the middle, but we have to understand maybe it will take a little more time for him to adapt. ” “ But again, we have the right people and we’re going to give him time, and we’re confident he’ll be patient and will work very hard to be an important player. ” Perhaps the first glimpse of Allan will arrive tomorrow night but he does need time to adjust to his new club. On paper Allan’s strengths do look suited to playing a role for Enzo Maresca’s side. He is a strong dribbler and work out of possession is elite. Those two traits should see him play a role for Manchester City this season. However, as Hugo Viana has explained, City will give Allan time to adapt to life at Manchester City. The step up from Palmeiras to playing for City is a big one. Allan needs time to get used to life at a big European club. However, despite the fact that City will be patient with the Brazilian winger, perhaps tomorrow night will be when City fans will get their first glimpse of Allan. Manchester City take on Norwich City tomorrow night at the Etihad Stadium in the third-round of the Carabao Cup. City then take on Sunderland at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday in an important Premier League fixture. It would be expected that Enzo Maresca will rotate his squad to give players such as Allan a run out. Due to this, the first glimpse of Allan may arrive tomorrow night. It would be exciting for the hard-working winger to take his first steps as a City player tomorrow night. Also, it would be exciting for City fans to finally see one of the more intriguing signings that City have made finally in action. Manchester City are going to give Allan time to adjust to life in a new country and new league. City have signed Allan with one eye on the future given that he is only 22 years old. Manchester City’s approach with Allan is a wide one, however the Brazilian winger could make his City debut tomorrow night which is an exciting prospect to consider.
