Rennes’ Alidu Seidu to join OGC Nice on straight loan deal
Rennes’ Alidu Seidu to join OGC Nice on straight loan deal Alidu Seidu (26) is set to join OGC Nice on a straight loan deal until the end of the season, as per a report from Le Parisien . Rules in France would permit the recruitment of the Ghana international, despite the closure of the transfer window in France on 1st September. Clubs are allowed to recruit a ‘joker’, should certain conditions be met. One of those conditions is a severe injury within the current squad. Antoine Mendy suffered an ACL injury during a draw against Le Mans earlier this month, which would allow Le Gym to dip into the market. Nice’s owners, INEOS, gave the green light for talks between Rennes and Nice to proceed earlier this week and an agreement has now been reached between the two clubs. No buy option will be included in what is simply a straight loan deal, Le Parisien understands. The Ghana international will now be permitted to travel to the Côte d’Azur in order to complete the move. It remains to be seen whether the deal can be completed in time to allow the defender to be eligible to face Lille OSC on Sunday. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
