'The result of an awful lot of hard work over last 125 years'

Club historian Neil Vacher first went to watch Bournemouth in 1963 and has been discussing how the club has transformed, what playing in Europe means and the various roles he has held over the years - from PA announcer to club secretary. He told BBC Radio Solent: "It's quite some story isn't it? If you tried to write it, people would say 'no this couldn't happen, you're in the realms of fantasy' - but it has happened and it is absolutely amazing. "I think it's fair to say it's the result of an awful lot of hard work over the last 125 years - from the people who at one stage tried to keep the football club alive, right through to the current owner Bill Foley and what he is doing to advance the club."
