🚨 BREAKING: Thomas Tuchel names England squad for mammoth international break Thomas Tuchel has named his first England squad since the 2026 World Cup, with Cole Palmer and Trent Alexander-Arnold among the notable inclusions for the upcoming Nations League fixtures. The 27-man squad was announced on Friday morning ahead of four matches against Spain, Czechia and Croatia during an extended international window. England begin their campaign against world champions Spain at Wembley on September 26 before travelling to Prague to face Czechia three days later. They then play Croatia in Rijeka on October 3 before welcoming Czechia back to Wembley on October 6.  Palmer returns to the squad after being left out of Tuchel's World Cup selection. The Chelsea forward has made a strong start to the new season alongside Morgan Rogers.  Alexander-Arnold is also back in the England squad, having not featured for the national team for more than a year. The Real Madrid defender is joined in the back line by Trevoh Chalobah, Marc Guehi, Jarrad Branthwaite, Ezri Konsa, Lewis Hall, Tino Livramento, Nico O'Reilly and Jarell Quansah. Jordan Pickford retains his place in goal alongside James Trafford and Jason Steele. In midfield, Tuchel has selected Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, Elliot Anderson, Kobbie Mainoo, Eberechi Eze, Cole Palmer, Alex Scott and Myles Lewis-Skelly. Scott is included after narrowly missing out on the World Cup squad and is yet to make his senior England debut. The Bournemouth midfielder was part of Tuchel's preparations before the tournament and has subsequently remained in contention for a first senior call-up.  Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha is another significant inclusion. The 18-year-old made his England debut during the team's pre-World Cup preparations but had not previously been named in a full senior squad. He joins Anthony Gordon, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka and Harry Kane in the attacking group.
