Sevilla manager admits Barcelona are ‘terrifying’ ahead of crucial La Liga clash Sevilla manager Luis Garcia Plaza knows his side faces an enormous challenge when Barcelona arrive this weekend , but he is refusing to treat the La Liga leaders as unbeatable. Barcelona’s attacking numbers have made them one of the most difficult teams to contain in the division, yet Sevilla head into the meeting in good form.  Garcia Plaza believes that gives his players enough reason to approach the fixture with confidence rather than simply trying to limit the damage. The Sevilla coach acknowledged the difficulty of the task while stressing that football can still produce an unexpected result. “There’s always a chance of winning or picking up points”. Sevilla know Barcelona’s attack will be the test Garcia Plaza has already experienced what Barcelona can do at their peak.  His reference to Pep Guardiola’s famous side was used to explain just how difficult the current team is to face, rather than suggest the challenge has become any easier. But this team is incredible.” The Sevilla manager then focused on the sheer volume of opportunities Barcelona are creating, while acknowledging that his own side have arrived in better shape than they were earlier in the campaign. “They create so many chances to score. As Fabregas said, they’re terrifying. I’m not the one saying it.  “On paper, they’re the favourites, but we’re in good form. It’s true that they’re scoring four or five goals a game.” That attacking output presents a clear problem for Sevilla. Garcia Plaza wants his players to prevent Barcelona from turning their possession into the number of chances they have been producing against other opponents. “So far we’ve been very good, apart from the day we played Atletico. What we want is for them to create few chances against us, but it’s true that we’re up against an opponent who creates a lot, a lot. Garcia Plaza wants Sevilla to play their own game Rather than changing everything to accommodate Barcelona, Garcia Plaza intends to rely on the qualities that have helped Sevilla build their current run of form. The manager also recognises the tactical demands created by Hansi Flick’s team. Barcelona’s pressure, movement and ability to generate chances force opponents to perform with very little room for error. Garcia Plaza has seen that challenge first-hand and knows Sevilla will need an exceptional performance. “They certainly are, but I’m sure they’d pose a challenge to everyone they’ve swept aside. We’re going to give it a go using our own strengths and creating our own chances.  “Guardiola’s Barcelona scored six against me, but I also beat them.
