The major problem there is that Liverpool only have one other right-back in Jeremie Frimpong and no one is convinced he’s a right-back. That leaves the squad very short in the role. And now they’ve gotten even shorter. Isaac Mbaya injured Isaac Mbaya, who was included in Liverpool's UEFA Champions League squad , went off injured for Liverpool Under 21s on Saturday. The right-back is considered an emergency option for the European campaign - but an option nonetheless. It's a particularly bad blow for Mabaya as he'd just received a callup to the Zimbabwe national side for the first time. Of course, there's little information on the severity of the injury, but it's certainly terrible timing for the youngster. Mabaya is hoping this campaign will be a breakout one at both club and international level. He's certainly got the opportunities to do so, on the fringes of Liverpool's first-team and without key players blocking his pathway. But it's an international level that the great hopes lie. This upcoming break is Mabaya's big senior opportunity and we'll cross our fingers for him that it's a quick recovery time and that he can play a role.
