Paris FC manager Liam Rosenior explains clash with Strasbourg fans There was a reunion at the Stade Jean Bouin on Saturday and it wasn’t a savoury one. Liam Rosenior, following an ill-fated stint at Chelsea last season, faced one of his former sides, RC Strasbourg Alsace, who were welcomed by Paris FC on Saturday. Rosenior joined Paris FC over the summer. At the start of the year, he was manager of Strasbourg, but following Enzo Maresca’s hasty exit, he was moved to partner club Chelsea. The Englishman did not see out the season at Stamford Bridge. His Alsace exit did not go down well and there isn’t a lot of love lost. At the end of Paris FC’s 2-1 win over Le Racing, Rosenior went over to celebrate in front of the Strasbourg away end. This led to a confrontation with Strasbourg’s players, who came over to remonstrate with their former boss. Rosenior justified his actions in his post-match press conference. “A small number, and I insist, a small number, because Strasbourg is a fantastic club, were disrespectful. They insulted my family. My dugout was very angry. So, for me, celebrating like that was clearly a message. I won’t say anything else on this topic,” he said. The return fixture at the Meinau promises to be a feisty affair.
