€20m Liverpool ace in demand as Champions League club seek deal

€20m Liverpool ace in demand as Champions League club seek deal Liverpool's summer transfer window is going to be one of the busiest in the Premier League again this time around. In the 2025-26 season, the Reds earned over £200 million in transfer fees while spending over £450 million on new signings. Most people thought this would be a turning point and a window for the Reds to build on over the next few years but, unfortunately, that's not been the case. With this in mind, several players are likely to exit Anfield this summer with one Liverpool ace now on the shortlist of a Champions League club. Roma want to sign Federico Chiesa Liverpool's attack let them down massively this summer. Mohamed Salah's strengths weren't played to and Cody Gakpo should have just stayed at home . Of course, Rio Ngumoha and Hugo Ekitike were the exceptions to this rule but, if Liverpool want to win some silverware, they need more than two attackers who perform well. In their time of need, fans wanted Arne Slot to call upon Federico Chiesa to try and offer the club something different. And, when he played, he was genuinely decent but, for some reason, the Dutchman did everything in his power to not play the Italy international. Chiesa's lack of playing time led to many rumours being shared with Italian outlet La Roma 24 now sharing a new update on his future. "The Roman club is also considering alternatives," they wrote. "In addition to the names of Nusa, Vlasic, Tzolis, and Summerville, Federico Chiesa is also surfacing. "As reported in today's edition of the newspaper, the former Juventus player, who is on his way out of Liverpool, is also on the Giallorossi's radar as a potential attacking addition." Andoni Iraola must figure out if he needs Federico Chiesa next season The only reason why Chiesa would want to leave Liverpool in the summer is if Andoni Iraola makes him a benchwarmer again. The Italy international may have had his fair share of injuries during his time at Anfield but, the lack of faith that Slot had in the 28-year-old was shocking. But, now that Mohamed Salah is leaving and Jeremie Frimpong isn't really good enough to be the Reds' starting right-winger, now could be Chiesa's time to shine. Iraola will be going into Liverpool's pre-season having never seen any of his new players perform. So, he'll undoubtedly be going into the 2026-27 term with open eyes, giving everyone a chance at forging a career in L4. But, if Chiesa fails to impress, the Spaniard needs to let him know as soon as possible so that he can try and find himself a new club. If they do end up selling him, which, on the face of things, feels like a very fair deal for any of the interested clubs.
