Andoni Iraola has already found the answer to his main Liverpool issue Liverpool are still unbeaten across all competitions after they beat Bournemouth 1-0 on Sunday. For most of the clash, the Reds were the second-best team with it often looking like Andoni Iraola was going to get shown up by his former club. However, by some sort of luck, Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz joined together to bag the only goal of the game. Wirtz definitely didn't mean to set up his teammate on Sunday but, luckily, the ball landed at Isak's feet and, from that point on, it was a fairly simple finish. Even though Liverpool may be unbeaten, there are still a fair few issues that they need to try and sort out. Their attack and defence are both fairly solid at the moment but, their midfield is still rather worrying. But, now that we're a few games into the season, it kind of feels like I raola may have just accidentally stumbled across the solution to that problem . In fact, some of the Reds' fanbase were even questioning why their club weren't offering the midfielder a new deal. However, now that the deal is done, Liverpool haven't really missed him thanks to Trey Nyoni . It felt like the 19-year-old was on his way out of L4 with Swansea being the most-linked team with a move. However, thanks to how well Iraola can develop youngsters, he chose to keep him around and, at the moment, that seems like it was an excellent move. Every time the young Englishman has played, he's been one of the Reds' best players and, even though he only played 29 minutes of football, he made five defensive contributions which just one less than Alexis Mac Allister who played the full 90 minutes. One of the main issues Liverpool's midfield have faced this season is how defensive they've had to be, both Dominik Szoboszlai and Ryan Gravenberch have barely won any duels but, Nyoni has been in top form. At the moment, he's still too young to be starting each and every game but, if he continues on this upward trajectory, there's no reason why, by the end of the current season, he couldn't become a regular starter. Szoboszlai and Gravenberch may have both signed new deals last term but, if we're being honest, Mac Allister has easily been the best player of the three. Admittedly, the Argentinian wasn't at his best last term with some fans even demanding that he was moved on but, after the 2026 World Cup, he's really managed to come into his own. In fact, it actually feels like he's been able to run it back a few years as he's arguably become one of the Reds' most important players. However, Nyoni has also been in a similar vein of form. As mentioned, the Englishman has performed rather well every time he's been called upon and, while Gravenberch and Szoboszlai both need to get used to being in a double pivot , Nyoni's purple patch has made it feel like he needs to start more games for Liverpool. The Reds have something of a golden generation coming through their ranks at the moment and, if they can be nurtured, they could easily become world-class players in the future. Heres' hoping that, after the international break, Nyoni is handed a start or two by his boss so that fans can see how good the 19-year-old actually is.
