"A figure already very important for a player of just 20 years, but that photographs well the consideration achieved by Smit on the international market. Players such as Milos Kerkez, Florian Wirtz and now Bradley Barcola have all been signed with none of them being older than 23 when they were first brought in. Of course, by buying players with high potential, the club never really knows how good their signings could become with Kerkez now proving that, even if you have a good season, there's always a chance that you won't ever live up to those standards again. Indeed, the Hungarian is still only 22 years old so there's plenty of time before he's going to be classed as a write-off but, the fact he's now Liverpool's weakest area of their defence says all you need to know. The midfielder is only 20 years old and, since he's only ever played in the Eredivisie, it's unclear whether his talent will transfer over to the Premier League or not. However, despite being so young, he's quickly become one of AZ's most important players with the midfielder contributing to 15 goals across all competitions from central midfield last term. Also, the fact that both Barcelona and Real Madrid want him is certainly a good sign. As you can tell, the youngster would certainly cost a hefty chunk of change but, on the face of things, Liverpool signing the " special " feels like a solid move, especially if he continues the current run of form he finds himself in.
