'Beating Forest is enormous for Coventry self-belief'

[Getty Images] European football commentator Kevin Hatchard says Coventry would be in "a very different scenario" going into the extended international break had they not secured their first win of the season by beating Nottingham Forest 1-0 on Saturday . It was the Sky Blues' first goal and win in the Premier League since 2001 and ensured Frank Lampard's side moved off the bottom of the table. "The win at Forest is enormous because to go into that international break on a high is really important," Hatchard told BBC CWR. "It's a really long international break and, as Lampard said, you can't train all the time - but there is a lot of time to reflect and think about previous results. "If that had been a defeat it would have been Coventry really struggling at the foot of the table and it would have been a very different scenario. "The Premier League is so tough. Every team now has a pretty extensive budget. It has been a tough start, it was always going to be, but I think that Forest win is enormous for the self-belief. "Coventry are a brilliant attacking team but that leap to the Premier League is tough because defences are quicker and stronger - it is so much harder to score goals. "That would be my concern when it comes to Coventry. They have good attacking players but can they perform at the top level? "That is part of the puzzle for Lampard over the break.
