Mourinho’s assistant, Pedro Machado, was also dismissed during the derby and has similarly been suspended for one match “for conduct contrary to good sporting order,” as per the Committee’s statement. In addition, Real Madrid received a formal warning for their delayed return for the second half, which began five minutes late as noted by the referee. The Committee reminded the club of its obligation to strictly comply with the official kickoff times, urging extreme diligence in future matches. The CTA notably backed the decision to send off Huijsen, ruling that Giuliano had the position won before being fouled and that the penalty and red card were correct. However, the Committee did admit one significant error ,acknowledging that Atletico’s Kang-In Lee should have been sent off for a dangerous challenge on Federico Valverde. That admission offers little consolation to Real Madrid, who not only lost the game but also saw Valverde pick up an injury from the incident and could now miss several weeks of action.
