He was asked about the team he was building and whether they were ready to try and win an unprecedented third consecutive Champions League title. Can they possibly keep the competitive edge to their game after so much success? Well, it’s all very well for the sporting director to say it – he’s hardly going to say anything differently. But are we seeing it on the pitch? Luis Enrique is an expert at keeping his players as motivated and competitive as possible, plus the new additions in the summer have given a fresh injection of desire to the group, upping the competition in the whole squad. There’s a long way to go until the business end of the season for PSG, but we certainly haven’t seen much slowdown yet. In other news… PSG are starting the season slowly, as is their tradition, but there are already signs they’re warming up and are ahead of where they were this time last year.
