Injured Real Madrid defender pushing hard to return as soon as possible
Injured Real Madrid defender pushing hard to return as soon as possible Real Madrid defender Eder Militao is working hard to make his comeback from injury at the earliest possible, reports Mundo Deportivo . The 28-year-old star has been out of action for five months after suffering a severe tear in the proximal tendon of the biceps femoris back in April earlier this year. Recovery progressing well While almost the entire Real Madrid first-team squad is away on national team duty, Militao continues to work hard on his recovery at the club’s training facilities. The Brazilian international, along with fellow injured stars Ferland Mendy, Rodrygo Goes and Federico Valverde, are all going to the Real Madrid Sports City every day to work on their respective recoveries. Earlier today, Militao shared footage on social media showing his rehabilitation work. The centre-back is already running on the pitch and working with the ball . He is pushing himself in an effort to return to action as soon as possible. Working towards an October return As mentioned earlier, Militao suffered his injury last April, which forced him to undergo surgery in Finland. It resulted in him missing the final months of the 2025/26 season with Los Blancos , while he also had to sit out of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. As per the report, the Brazilian defender’s intention is to be available at manager Jose Mourinho’s disposal in October, following the international break. They believe the recovery timetable must be followed strictly rather than rushing the process, in order to avoid a setback or another injury. That is particularly important in Militao’s case, given that he has already suffered several serious injuries in the same area. Nonetheless, things seem to be progressing positively with regard to the defender’s recovery and a return to action might not be very far. Once he returns, Militao will face stiff competition for places in the team as new signing Ibrahima Konate has made a decent start while Dean Huijsen has also been in good form under Mourinho.
