Marshall grasping his opportunity in improving Dons team

[BBC] When highlighting how challenging a week of away fixtures Aberdeen had ahead of them earlier this month, there is no doubt Stephen Robinson would have signed up for a place in the League Cup semi-finals and four Premiership points from visits to Kilmarnock, Motherwell and Hibernian. The trip to Easter Road yielded one of those points and a timid second-half display cost them all three having taken the lead and seemingly been sitting comfortably only for Northfield's Martin Boyle to once again score against his hometown club. It was Boyle's 10th against the Dons with this one coming from the spot after an inexplicable Jack Milne challenge. However, there is a much more positive spin on things at Pittodrie as we go into the newly extended September/October international break. When the club football gets back under way in just over a fortnight, Aberdeen have a much more favourable schedule, although with that comes the pressure of expectancy. Three out of their next four matches are at home against St Johnstone, St Mirren and Falkirk with a trip to Dundee United in among that. The fans will hope to win all four of those but if the Dons can produce a return in the region of between eight and 10 points, Robinson will be content with how things are going. The recent emergence of Findlay Marshall has been pleasing for the supporters. It looked like the 20-year-old was heading for the exit door, but he has grasped his opportunity and been one of their top performers over the past 10 days. For those who watched the midfielder's performances for Arbroath during his loan spell last season, it will come as no surprise and he looks to have a bright future. People in the north-east like nothing more than a local excelling and Marshall will be hoping to keep his place in what seems to be a slowly improving Aberdeen side.
