Liverpool and Brighton dominate September’s Premier League award nominations

Liverpool and Brighton dominate September’s Premier League award nominations Liverpool’s Andoni Iraola, Brighton’s Fabian Hurzeler and Manchester City’s Enzo Maresca have been nominated for the Manager of the Month . Iraola guided the Reds to two wins and a draw, scoring three goals and conceding none. They recorded wins at Ipswich Town and Bournemouth and were held to a goalless draw at home by Fulham. The Spaniard is a two-time Premier League Manager of the Month winner, both coming during his time at Bournemouth. Hurzeler’s Brighton beat defending champions Arsenal and Coventry City, and drew against Leeds United. They scored nine goals and conceded once. Hurzeler has not won the award since August 2024 when he became the youngest manager to win it at the time . Maresca’s City were the only team with a perfect record, recording wins against Manchester United, Sunderland and Coventry, climbing to the top of the standings . They scored seven goals and conceded three. Maresca has won the award twice during his time at Chelsea. Meanwhile, Liverpool’s Alexander Isak and Jeremy Jacquet, Brighton’s Charalampos Kostoulas and Pascal Gross have been nominated for Player of the Month category . Isak scored three goals, including the decisive strike at Bournemouth , while Jacquet played a huge role in helping Liverpool keep three clean sheets. Kostoulas and Gross registered three and five goal involvements, including a goal and an assist apiece against Arsenal. Man City’s Antoine Semenyo, Hull City’s Mohamed Belloumi, Leeds’ Jayden Bogle and Brentford’s Kevin Schade are the other nominees. Semenyo chipped in with four goal involvements, and Belloumi had three, while Schade netted twice and Bogle scored once.
