Real Madrid players face personalised training schedules during international break

Real Madrid players face personalised training schedules during international break Jose Mourinho has no intention of allowing the international break to become a simple period of recovery for Real Madrid. According to MARCA , the Portuguese coach plans to use the two-week pause as an opportunity to assess and prepare his players on an individual basis. As such, there will be no single training programme at Valdebebas, with workloads tailored to the needs of each member of the squad. The players were already due to receive four days off after the derby defeat , but that decision was made before the result at the Metropolitano.  They are expected back on Friday, when Mourinho’s staff will begin putting the individual plans into practice. On that note, Thibaut Courtois, Andriy Lunin, Raul Asensio, Eder Militao, Alvaro Carreras, Antonio Rudiger, Ferland Mendy, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Thiago Pitarch and Rodrygo are among those remaining in Madrid, but their schedules will differ depending on their physical condition and requirements. The injured players face the most demanding routine, with Militao, Rodrygo and Mendy reporting to Valdebebas to work on their respective recoveries rather than enjoying a conventional international-break rest. Valverde, currently injured , will also have specific sessions, while Asensio will use the fortnight to assess his tibia problem and determine whether surgery will ultimately be required. The midfielder will have the chance to complete some of the conditioning work he missed during pre-season as he looks to return to his best level. Real Madrid face one major limitation Mourinho’s plans are inevitably restricted by the number of players leaving Madrid for international duty.  Notably, as many as 15 members of the squad have been called up by their respective countries for matches during September and October. That leaves the manager with a much smaller group at Valdebebas, but it also creates an opportunity, as several academy players are expected to train with the senior squad and could receive valuable first-team exposure.
