Port Vale midfielder Craig out for season with ACL
Matty Craig was making only his third Port Vale appearance [Joel Harrison - Port Vale FC] Port Vale midfielder Matty Craig has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury. The 23-year-old has only made one start for Vale since signing on a three-year deal from Tottenham Hotspur in June. He has made three appearances in total, the latest of them coming off the bench in Tuesday's Jersey Mike's Trophy defeat on penalties at Chesterfield. Craig only came on as a 66th-minute substitute before being stretchered off six minutes from the end of full-time. Vale are one place off the bottom in League Two. Jon Brady's side picked up their first win of the season against Exeter City on 15 September before being well beaten by high-flying Walsall last Saturday. All the latest Port Vale news
