Bayern Munich weigh up January move for €70 million-rated Barcelona playmaker In a major update, Sky Sports reports that Bayern Munich are considering launching a move for FC Barcelona playmaker Dani Olmo in the upcoming January transfer window. The 28-year-old midfielder returned to Barça in 2024, signing from RB Leipzig, and has grown into a key player for the team. He has a contract at the Spotify Camp Nou that runs until the summer of 2030. Bayern Munich long-term admirers However, as per the report, Bayern Munich are seriously weighing up a January move for Olmo. Bayern have admired Olmo from that time and have continued to closely monitor his growth since the La Masia product returned to Barcelona. Now, amidst growing interest in key attacking players like Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala, the possibility of moving for Olmo as early as upcoming January is being assessed by the Bavarians. Move will not come cheap The report, however, states that any move for Olmo in January will not come cheap as he is currently valued at around €70 million (£60 million). Nevertheless, he has featured in all eight matches and chipped in with three assists. Moreover, he is coming on the back of an influential role in Spain’s 2026 FIFA World Cup triumph, where he started six of the champions’ eight games, even contributing two assists. So, Bayern Munich will not find it easy to convince Barcelona to convince one of Hansi Flick’s important players that too midway through the season.
