Jurgen Klopp gives mixed update on Kai Havertz injury Kai Havertz picked up an injury in Germany’s draw with the Netherlands on Thursday night, undergoing an MRI to assess a suspected hamstring issue. Photo by Lars Baron/Getty Images Kai Havertz only lasted 30 minutes of Germany’s Nations League match away to the Netherlands on Thursday, before being forced off with an injury. TV images showed Jurrien Timber’s brother Quinten clashing with the Arsenal striker, catching him on the knee with a high challenge. But it’s believed the problem is actually a hamstring issue, potentially unrelated to the foul on him. Manager Jurgen Klopp gave an update after the game, suggesting Havertz is unlikely to represent Germany again over the current international break. I just hope this is nothing bad. “The boys are probably out for us, but hopefully then also relatively quickly available again.” Photo by Julian Finney/Getty Images A key point to clarify is that Havertz had only been called up for Germany’s first two games anyway. So Klopp ruling him out of the rest of the break would only really mean ruling him out until Sunday, when Germany play their second match against Greece . There was never any expectation that Havertz would be involved in the subsequent two fixtures for Germany, and hopefully he’ll be fit again before Arsenal return on October 10th.
