Aston Villa defender Scott signs first professional deal Aston Villa defender Katie Scott has signed her first professional contract with the club. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this morning. The 17-year-old becomes the youngest-ever player to sign professional terms with Aston Villa Women. Scott is a product of the Aston Villa academy system and she has already forced her way into the senior squad. The youngster made her senior debut for The Villans in their 4-1 defeat to Manchester City 12 days ago. She also featured for Aston Villa in their Subway Players Cup fixture against Nottingham Forest in midweek. The defender has a big future in the game and Aston Villa have moved quickly to retain her services on a professional basis. After signing on with Aston Villa, Scott said “I haven’t even got the words to describe it, really. I mean, coming through the Academy, it’s all you want to do. So, I’m just over the moon. “I’m just learning so much. I’m playing with some of the best players in the league. So, every single day is a learning day, and I love it.” Scott is now set to continue her development in and around the first team environment.
