The defender, who will require surgery, is expected to be sidelined for between three and four months. It is also worth noting that this type of fracture usually results in a tear to the lateral collateral ligament of the ankle. A product of the Brest academy, Le Guen made his professional debut last season, before establishing himself as an undisputed fixture in the Breton club’s central defence from the start of the 2026-27 campaign. A starter in each of the first five Ligue 1 matchdays, the Quimper-born player had notably delivered standout performances against Le Havre and Paris Saint-Germain. This is bad news for Brest and their manager Julien Lachuer, who will have to cope with a weakened defence, already missing their captain Brendan Chardonnet (31), who has been injured since the summer.
